4th Annual Philly Theatre Week Announced for April
Curtains up. Theatre Philadelphia has announced the return of Philly Theatre Week from April 22 to May 2, 2021. After a year of dark stages, millions in lost ticket sales and thousands of lost jobs, the Philadelphia theatre scene will rise again after the pandemic shut-downs with 11 days, 64 organizations, 72 events, and hundreds of performances.

Longtime People's Light Company Members Reunite for MORNING'S AT SEVEN
A stellar ensemble of People's Light veterans, including some of the most celebrated actors in Philadelphia, brings to life Paul Osborn's classic American comedy, Morning's at Seven. In a small, Midwestern town, four close-knit sisters and their husbands confront long-held secrets and simmering tensions that threaten to upend the status quo. Artistic Director Abigail Adams directs this charming tribute to family dysfunction in which the relationships are ultimately as universal as the humor (Los Angeles Times). Morning's at Seven plays on the Steinbright Stage in Malvern from January 10 through February 4, 2018.

TONIGHT AND EVERY NIGHT to World Premiere at Dances With Films Festival Acclaimed actor Joe Cortese delivers a tour de force performance as Yianni, the host of a talk show that plays in his own beautiful but fractured mind Los Angeles, May 10th...Inspired by a daughter's love and true-to-life events, TONIGHT AND EVERY NIGHT, a narrative short film about the power of love over dementia, will have its world premiere at the Dances With Films festival in Los Angeles at the Chinese 6 Theater on Saturday, June 3rd at 5PM. In the film, veteran actor Joe Cortese portrays Yianni, who hosts a talk show that plays in own mind.

This gritty, gripping, and shockingly funny world premiere tosses audiences into a revolutionary Philadelphia court designed by a passionate group of women. Every day these lawyers, judges, parole officers and staff members work to transform the lives of women repeatedly convicted for prostitution. In her daring and vital new play Project Dawn, playwright Karen Hartman probes the thin lines between freedom and slavery, activism and obsession, for women on both sides of the law. Inspired by Hartman's extensive, first-hand research inside Philly's real-life court system, and cast with seven actresses who play multiple characters, this production represents the first world premiere to emerge from the acclaimed New Play Frontiers Residency & Commission program at People's Light. Quintessence Theatre Group Sets 2016-17 Season
Quintessence Theatre, Philadelphia's only all-classical repertory theatre, announces its seventh season of progressive classics. Season 2016-2017 includes MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN in the fall, a world premiere family holiday classic WILDE TALES, a rotating repertory: LOVE'S LABOR'S LOST and THE BROKEN HEART in the spring, and UNCLE VANYA to close the season in the summer.
