Tokio Confidential is a chamber musical that played at Atlantic Stage 2 in New York back in February 2012. The story follows Isabella who travels to Japan in 1879 as a tribute to her late husband. On arrival, she meets a charismatic stranger who introduces her to the secreted pleasures found within the city. This involves Isabella being introduced to Horiyoshi, one of the most skilled and anticipated tattoo artists in Japan whom she strikes a fascinating relationship with.

The recording of TOKIO CONFIDENTIAL, a new musical with words and music by Eric Schorr that had its Off-Broadway world premiere in 2012, will be released by Broadway Records and is now available for pre-order on the Broadway Records website at www.broadwayrecords.com/cds/tokio-confidential and select retailers. The album will be released on CD and digitally today, May 12, 2015.

Nearly two years ago in 2013, Virginia Stage Company (VSC) commissioned New York playwright and composer Eric Schorr to write a musical about the sea level crisis in Norfolk and beyond as the fifth play in the Company's American Soil Series. After holding extensive interviews with area residents and conducting further research, Schorr has now written a powerful musical that will receive its world premiere in VSC's 2015-16 season.

Oddly enough, the most interesting personal observation to be pondered in Shatner's World: We Just Live In It is spoken, not by the titular William Shatner, but by Patrick Stewart.  In a television clip, a conversation between the two captains of the Starship Enterprise, Stewart explains how, despite his acclaim as a classical actor of the stage, he's quite certain that his role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, is what he will ultimately be remembered for.  And he's fine with that.
