What did our critic think of THE PROM at Theatre Three?
The CM Performing Arts Center has released photos of the Long Island premiere of The Prom, running through May 14 on the Main Stage in The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre.
What did our critic think of THE PROM at CM Performing Arts Center? Ironic, satirical, over-the-top and even borderline problematic at select moments as it may be, the book and script for The Prom are undoubtedly laugh-out-loud funny. While the show reminds audiences that homophobia is still rampant and human rights are still threatened in our country in 2023, viewers also get to judge and laugh at the caricatures of narcissistic, grossly dramatic thespians, and closed-minded Indiana conservatives.
The CM Performing Arts Center has announced their cast and crew for The Long Island Premiere of The Prom.

Long Island's Noel Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center does it again with a rousing production of All Shook Up. Excellently directed and choreographed by CM vet Ashley Nicastro, the show runs through February 1st at the delightful Oakdale venue. Indeed, you'll leave the theater all shook up from this fun show.
“This is the moment …” The epic battle between good and evil is fought in Jekyll & Hyde, bringing new life to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story. A whirlwind odyssey pitting man against himself is set into motion when the brilliant Dr. Jekyll's medical experiment backfires, giving life to Edward Hyde, his evil alter ego. Featuring the hit songs “This is the Moment” and “Someone Like You,” Jekyll & Hyde is an evening of theatre you will never forget. Please Note: Contains adult themes and situations.
Some shows move you. Some shows run a chill up your spine. Some shows leave makeup and tears streaming down your face. This was my experience sitting in the intimate Circle in the Square Theatre, where 'Fun Home' premiered on Broadway in 2015 after an Off-Broadway run in 2013. More than three years later I experienced the same rush of emotions at Smithtown Performing Arts Center's production.
Fun Home opens on Saturday, September 8th at Smithtown Performing Arts Center.
The Long Island Regional Premiere of Fun Home opens at SPAC on September 8th, 2018. Performances run until October 20th, 2018. Tickets range from $25-$38 and can be purchased online at www.smithtownpac.org or by calling us at 631-724-3700.
While watching and enjoying 'We Will Rock You,' the latest hit musical at the Smithtown Center For The Performing Arts, you tend to wonder why the show's stars who belt out Queen's greatest hits aren't on Broadway. Gifted performers Andrew Murano and Danielle Nigro delight audiences as they breeze through the rock and roll score and lead a talented troop of young artists to stardom.
