David James James Boyd

David James Boyd (Composer) has produced, composed and/or arranged for many NYC theatrical productions that include ZANNA DONʼT (John Houseman Theater), CARNIVAL AROUND THE CENTRAL FIGURE (IRT Theater), RAINY DAYS AND MONDAYS (Fringe Encore NYC), the popular touring childrenʼs show ROOTS OF RAP POETRY, and music and lyrics for the long-running Off-Broadway hit MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING (St. Lukeʼs Theater). Davidʼs original dance/ electronic musical THE GROOVE FACTORY (Richard Rogers Award finalist) premiered at the 2012 New York Musical Theater Festival, and its songs have spun on dance floors from NYC to Singapore. David is the composer, lyricist and co-book writer for the musical STEPCHILD,currently in development (Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Laguardia Performing Arts Center, IRT Theater). Other film/tv work includes Logo TV’s THE A-LIST NEW YORK, RAID ON THE RAINBOW LOUNGE (narrated by Meredith Baxter), and the indie film BEAR CITY 2. David penned the theme song for the Emmy-nominated TAINTED DREAMS, currently airing Season 2 on Amazon. As a performer, David’s Broadway credits include MISS SAIGON (with Lea Salonga) and KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN (with Chita Rivera).
