DEADLIFT is a hilarious, heart-wrenching solo play. Written and performed by storyteller Aviva Pressman, DEADLIFT features the artist in her childhood home. As she gives a virtual tour, she tells childhood stories and recounts her experiences dealing with the caretaking of her dying father. Pressman also creates unique works of art in each scene.

Local Classic Repertory's new original work, DEADLIFT, features writer and creator Aviva Pressman in her own home, telling the stories of her life. The Sacred Fools Theater Company is rounding out its Prime Season with the West Coast Premiere of Antigone, Presented by the Girls of St. Catherine's by Madhuri Shekar, directed by Reena Dutt. Opening Friday, March 6 and running through April 11 in the Broadwater Main Stage, the show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with Sunday matinees on March 22 and 29, and April 5 at 3pm and one performance on Monday, March 30 at 8pm. 

Post-world-war-two America somehow managed to erase what 1920s women had fought so hard to create, and what the war effort at home had literally proved, that women could just as easily do a man's job. During the war, women were working in factories, becoming mechanics, if it was a 'man's job' women were out there doing it while the men fought the war. When the men came home, somehow women said hurrah! and happily became housewives and mothers. 'Whew! So glad to be back where I belong!' every magazine, billboard, and family-centric television show seemed to say, characterizing women as happy homemakers whose identity was determined by her biology aka her ability to keep a man happy in bed while producing babies, and all of the domesticity that implies.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is kicking off the new year with the World Premiere of Gifted by Bob DeRosa, directed by Rebecca Larsen. Opening Friday, January 24 and running through February 29 in the Broadwater Black Box, the show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with Sunday performances on January 26, February 2 and 16 at 4pm and one performance on Monday, February 17 at 8pm.

Block Party 2020 will remount Sacred Fools Theater Company's a?oeThe Art Couplea?? and IAMA Theatre Company's a?oeCanyon.a?? The visiting companies will receive the full support of Center Theatre Group and its staff in order to fund, stage and market each production.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company continues its 23rd season with the existential comedy Waiting for Waiting for Godot, by Dave Hanson, directed by Jacob Sidney. Opening Friday, November 8 and running through December 14 in the Broadwater Second Stage, the show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with Sunday performances on November 17, December 1 & 8 at 5:00 pm and one performance on Monday, November 18 at 8pm. 

Imagine Project has announced the cast for its inaugural production, The Tale of Turandot, a World Premiere running for two weekends at The Colony Theatre in Burbank, California, from Thursday, November 7, through Sunday, November 17, 2019, with Opening Night taking place on Friday, November 8. The cast will include Joe DeSoto as Arlekino, Matthew Henerson as Pedrolino, Mueen Jahan as Pantaloon, Makha Mthembu as Smeraldina, Arianne Villareal as Isabella and Aviva Pressman who will play Colombina. Inspired by the centuries-old story, Armina LaManna wrote and will direct this family friendly production, which is geared toward children between the ages of four and twelve years old.
