Winner of over 50 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.
One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
Declared "The Best Musical of the Decade" by Entertainment Weekly and "A Cultural Phenomenon" by Variety, WICKED is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, has music and lyrics by
Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello
with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

December 13, 2019Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans is has announced that tickets for the New Orleans premiere of the First National Tour of Mean Girls will go on sale Friday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. The record-breaking new musical comedy produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman and Paramount Pictures based on the hit film-will be coming to the Saenger Theatre from March 17-22, 2020. Presented by the New Orleans Theatre Association, Mean Girls is part of the Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans 2019-2020 season.

September 26, 2019Just in time for Halloween, Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans will host a special Halloween costume donation drive as part of WICKED's three-week engagement at the Saenger Theatre, from Oct. 2-20, benefitting 'WEEN DREAM. 'WEEN DREAM is an organization that gives free costumes to children in need across America. Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans is encouraging theatre guests to donate new or gently-used children's costumes as well as costume pieces and accessories.
WICKED Announces In-person Lottery For $25 Seats
September 25, 2019A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to the Saenger Theatre with performances from Oct. 2-20, 2019.
