Experience the magic of a Mystic Chorale concert on Saturday, November 11th at 7:30 pm at Cary Hall, 1605 Mass Ave, Lexington. Mystic’s moving and inspiring fall concert, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SINGING, explores the power of music and community singing to expand our joys, share our sorrows, and improve our sense of wellbeing.
Visiting music director Mike Pfitzer, leads more than 150 singers in a concert of music from a variety of locations, styles, cultures, and time periods. The program includes Jewish-American composer Linda Hirschhorn’s There Will Always Be Singing, an anthem for many singers around the country during the pandemic; Akanamandla, a protest song sung during South Africa’s Apartheid era; Trilo, a Swedish prayer song for the safe return of boats; a community singing version of Simon and Garfunkel’s hit Bridge Over Troubled Water; and popular modern folk songs - the Wailin’ Jennys’ One Voice and Brandi Carlile and Alicia Keys’ A Beautiful Noise.
For those unable to attend in person, the concert will be live streamed.
