South London soul singer Raelle returns to the Elgar Room two years after her Late Night Jazz debut.
"It's not just words on a page, or notes being played. Music is all about feelings", is what she says about music. With a band formed of classical, jazz and gospel musicians, Raelle delivers warm harmonies and personal lyrics over rich orchestral soul instrumentals to bring the listeners into an experience where they can find a piece of themselves.
Part of a new refreshing wave of neo-soul artists from London, Raelle started her musical journey in South London and has formed a sound characterised by its rich vocal harmonies and 70s soul feel.
She finds singing, particularly soul, a natural way of sharing with others, enabling a deeper emotional bonding between people, and creating a bridge to share experiences, in the musical spirit of Roy Ayers, Etta James, and Nina Simone.
Her music has been featured on Glastonbury Emerging Talent's longlist, BBC1Xtra on DJ Target's Touchdown Tour, DJ Ace’s R&B show, Jazz FM as track of the week, BBC Radio 2 with Jamie Cullum, and several Spotify curated lists.
