Bustling with gamblers, gangsters, and sassy showgirls, GUYS AND DOLLS celebrates Broadway's golden era with one of the greatest scores ever written for a musical by the legendary Frank Loesser, a masterfully witty book and lyrics by Joe Swerling and comedy legend Abe Burrows, and the glorious Damon Runyon's comic book world of 1940s Times Square New York City.

GUYS AND DOLLS originally conquered Broadway in 1951 as the winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical and again in 1992 with 4 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical. The New York Times calls it "The show that defines Broadway dazzle!" A movie version ofGUYS AND DOLLS was released in 1953 starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.

Ford's Theatre Postpones GUYS AND DOLLS; Programs Closed To May 17
March 23, 2020 Ford's Theatre Society is further altering its programming schedule through May 17, 2020. All performances of Guys and Dolls have been canceled and the production will be rescheduled for spring 2021, with dates to be announced. Special thanks to Guys and Dolls sponsors Lead Sponsor: ConocoPhillips and Underwriters: Altria Group, General Motors Company and KPMG LLP. The musical Man of La Mancha, originally announced as the spring 2021 production, will be postponed to a future season.

Ford's Theatre Has Announced Casting for GUYS AND DOLLS
February 11, 2020 Ford's Theatre Society announced full casting and design team for Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn. The production features Maria Egler as Miss Adelaide, Joe Mallon as Nathan Detroit, Bueka Uwemedimo as Sky Masterson and Karen Vincent as Sarah Brown. The musical features showstoppers 'Luck be a Lady,' 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat,' 'Take Back Your Mink' and more, and plays March 13 to May 20, 2020, at historic Ford's Theatre. The production is recommended for ages 10 and older.

February 28, 2019 Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the upcoming 2019-2020 theatrical season will include August Wilson's Fences, directed by Timothy Douglas and starring Craig Wallace and Erika Rose; Silent Sky, an inspiring drama about trail-blazing female astronomers, directed by Seema Sueko; the classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn; and A Christmas Carol featuring Craig Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
