Forda??s Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced updates to the Forda??s Theatre 2020-2021 season, following a revaluation amid the national reckoning for racial justice and the impacts of COVID-19 on live performances.
With the site closed and all onsite programming canceled until further notice, Ford's Theatre has shifted its focus online, launching:
Ford's Theatre Society is further altering its programming schedule through May 17, 2020. All performances of Guys and Dolls have been canceled and the production will be rescheduled for spring 2021, with dates to be announced. Special thanks to Guys and Dolls sponsors Lead Sponsor: ConocoPhillips and Underwriters: Altria Group, General Motors Company and KPMG LLP. The musical Man of La Mancha, originally announced as the spring 2021 production, will be postponed to a future season.
Out of an abundance of caution and to follow DC Health's recommendations, Ford's Theatre Society is altering its programming schedule through April 4. Ford's Theatre Society is staying abreast of the evolving situation related to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 and following advice from the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The latest Ford's Theatre updates will be posted on www.fords.org and main box office phoneline (202) 638-2941.
Ford's Theatre Society announced full casting and design team for Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn. The production features Maria Egler as Miss Adelaide, Joe Mallon as Nathan Detroit, Bueka Uwemedimo as Sky Masterson and Karen Vincent as Sarah Brown. The musical features showstoppers 'Luck be a Lady,' 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat,' 'Take Back Your Mink' and more, and plays March 13 to May 20, 2020, at historic Ford's Theatre. The production is recommended for ages 10 and older.
Ford's Theatre Society and TodayTix announced the fourth year of the popular Free First Preview initiative, through which free tickets are given away to the first performance of all Ford's Theatre mainstage productions. The TodayTix digital lottery launches online and in the app one week before the first performance of each mainstage production in the 2019-2020 season. A total of 1,950 tickets will be given away.

Tetreault today announced the upcoming 2019-2020 theatrical season will include August Wilson's Fences, directed by Timothy Douglas and starring Craig Wallace and Erika Rose; Silent Sky, an inspiring drama about trail-blazing female astronomers, directed by Seema Sueko; the classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn; and A Christmas Carol featuring Craig Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
