Registration Open for Camp Arena Stage and Arena Stage Academy

Registration is now open for Camp Arena Stage and the Arena Stage Academy's Musical Theater Training Company summer programs.

Camp Arena Stage is a multi-arts summer day camp for 8-15 year olds, and the 4-week intensive is scheduled for June 25-July 20, 2018 and the 2-week session is scheduled for July 23-August 3, 2018. The Arena Stage Academy, a training intensive for musical theater students, is scheduled for July 23-August 3, 2018.

Camp Arena Stage is celebrating its fourteenth summer where campers create their own schedule when they register, and pick and choose five daily activities to create a well-rounded summer roster. They have full control over their schedule with over 75 diverse activities to pick from, and past sessions have included Improv, Rock Band, Podcasting, Filmmaking, Crossword Design, Hip-Hop Dance, Songwriting, Chekov and Aerial Art. Every day at 12:30 p.m., there is a Camp-wide performance, where campers can share what they've been working on at Camp.

To sample workshops and classes taught by Camp staff, and to have an opportunity to have all of your Camp questions answered, Arena Stage will host its first ever Camp Arena Stage Open House on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth St., SW). This day of programming will give prospective campers and parents an opportunity to experience a taste of Camp Arena Stage. This event is FREE and children ages 8-15 are welcome to participate in sample workshops and classes. While the Open House is being held at Arena Stage, Camp Arena Stage is held on the beautiful grounds of Georgetown Visitation over the summer.

Now in its ninth summer, the Arena Stage Academy's Musical Theater provides training for the serious student in American musical theater. Taught by expert faculty, company members train in singing, acting and dance technique in daily classes. They then apply these skills in rehearsals, working toward a polished, final showcase, which is attended by members of Arena Stage's artistic team. This is a program designed to help shape you as a musical theater performer, by teaching advanced choreography and training your voice.
