The Actors' Equity Association, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists, the three major theatrical artist unions, have approved Northern Stage's production of It's Fine, I'm Fine by Stephanie Everett to run live, in-person on stage at the Barrette Center for the Arts October 7 - 25.
Now in its seventh year, Northern Stage's New Works Now festival will feature three new plays, January 10 and 11 at the Barrette Center for the Arts. The Northern Stage Artistic team, including Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne and BOLD Associate Artistic Director & New Works Now Producer Jess Chayes, reached out to writers and artists in the Northern Stage community and read dozens of unproduced plays, selecting three to be workshopped with professional actors and directors for one week, culminating in a public festival of free staged readings.
What happens when someone gains access to your online identity? Dartmouth graduate Brenda Withers' world premiere Jordan tackles this timely topic on the main stage at the Barrette Center for the Arts in White River Junction, VT from October 16 a?" November 3. Northern Stage announces its 2019-20 Season, a season of plays that thematically reflect on the past to move into a more positive future. The company's 23rd Season will feature two world premieres by women writers, non-traditional casting in classic plays, and an overall season more diverse and reflective of the world. "Northern Stage continues to evolve from a local theater with a regional impact to a regional theater with a national impact," says Northern Stage Producing Artistic Director and Director of the BOLD Theater Women's Leadership Circle Carol Dunne. "New Works Now and the BOLD Circle enable us to nurture work by emerging artists and women writers. The diverse voices on stage this season elevate our work and challenge us to change lives by including the stories of humanity that are often overlooked and rarely told."
The world premiere run of VENUS RISING is happening at Northern Stage in Vermont from January 30th to February 2nd, 2019.
