The Toronto Symphony Orchestra announces an historic 2022/23 season that celebrates the Orchestra's 100th anniversary. Events, repertoire, and world-renowned artists have been programmed to reflect and pay homage to the TSO's illustrious past, signal the beginning of a dynamic future, and pay tribute to the vibrant, diverse community it serves.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra pulls out all the festive stops with a December packed full of holiday favourites: Home Alone in Concert, TSO Holiday Pops, and Handel's Messiah.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the holidays with the return of a seasonal favourite, Home Alone in Concert, for three performances on December 3 (7:30pm) and December 4 (2:00pm & 7:30pm).
Single tickets to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's previously announced 2021/22 season will go on sale September 16, for concerts through to February 2022. Single tickets for the remainder of the season will go on sale at a later date when there are updated capacity limits during the winter/spring months. The first half of the season will feature shorter concerts with no intermission and works selected for smaller ensembles to allow for distance on stage.
The Stratford Festival is continuing to expand its online offerings as it marks the first anniversary of its Thursday night viewing parties this week with an encore screening of King Lear, and with a specially curated selection of theatrical content newly added to Stratfest@Home, the Festival’s $10-a-month streaming service.
Premiering this December, the multi-award-winning innovative team at Against the Grain Theatre (AtG) is proud to present a bold interpretation of Handel's Messiah, accompanied by and in partnership with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO), and co-directed by Joel Ivany, the Founding Artistic Director of AtG, Reneltta Arluk, Director of Indigenous Arts at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Messiah/Complex will premiere online on December 13, 2020 on AtG TV.

Incoming Music Director Gustavo Gimeno has set the tone for his first five years with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) by launching a 2020/21 season that personifies his expansive artistic vision, intellectual curiosity and sense of adventure. Gustavo is driven by a passion for exploring how well-known works in the classical repertoire contrast and illuminate repertoire across various genres and styles. His season offers works of orchestral adventure that will appeal to Toronto audiences known to embrace a broad range of musical and artistic experiences. The TSO is entering its 99th season, and Gustavo Gimeno is the first new Music Director in 15 years.
