Powerful stories based on truth depict the forced production of Nazi propaganda by Jewish prisoners, confronting white privilege, and learning to love oneself. Other pieces include a special request for a sex worker, the Lebanon war, a college school shooting, a donut baker who dedicates her life to protecting children, and stages of love in a pandemic.

A hybrid of live-in-theatre productions and live-streamed prerecorded performances on Powerstories' virtual stage, The Voices of Women Theatre Festival spotlights local Tampa Bay and North American playwrights to a global audience.
In collaboration with Thrϋ-Line Theatrical Production Company, Powerstories is currently seeking submissions from female playwrights around the world of any age and level of experience. The submission deadline is July 15, 2021. Ten selected productions will be performed live in the theatre and live-streamed worldwide or produced virtually online in the Festival's debut on October 6-17, 2021.
Powerstories is reaching out to talented 8 to 18-year-old artists of all original plays, scenes, monologues, spoken word, songs, and dance with original music, to be performed in the theater at 2105 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, and using the latest technology, live-streamed.
On March 20, 2021, the expanded theatrical production, A Necessary Conversation, featuring two short plays about bullying, mental health, and gun violence in high school, debuts on Powerstories Theatre’s virtual stage. It is one of 16 selections for the theatre’s online inaugural Voices of Truth Theatre Festival, running through March 28, 2021.
A collaboration with Outcast Theatre Collective, The Voices of Truth Festival makes its inaugural debut from Powerstories Theatre’s technology-updated venue on March 10-28, 2021. Sixteen thought-provoking, conversation-starting productions - fourteen original plays and two curated as the dream productions of its directors - will take three different directions to the virtual stage. The playwrights had a choice to produce their play live-streamed from Powerstories, via Zoom, or as a prerecorded theatre experience.
[Click and drag to move] Coming to a laptop, cell phone, or computer near you is Powerstories Theatre's Shine Bright Talent Showcase Competition FUNdraiser. If you missed Saturday's performance, anyone can watch the recorded competition online and enjoy performances by local and national contestants. This competition featured 12 singers, musicians, spoken word artists, storytellers, and family-friendly comedians who will be solely judged by you, the audience. Voting is available until 2 pm, with results announced at 5 pm on Facebook Live.
