Bring your family and share in the memories at Powerstories for our annual holiday tradition,
a true-story musical, Raising Twelve on a Nickel and a Prayer. This is our founder’s original story spanning three Christmas seasons from 1950 to 1966. It’s a true story of love, resilience, and finding faith to believe when there is no reason you should.
It follows the military love story, adventures, and trials and tribulations of Betty Taylor, who dreams of having 12 children, and Harold, her Navy sailor husband. Will tragedy close 1966?
Raising Twelve on a Nickel and a Prayer opens with special holiday family-friendly hours on December 1 at 730pm and runs through December 18.

Powerstories is partnering with Arts4All Florida, a nonprofit organization that promotes the accomplishments of artists with disabilities. Twelve works by these local artists will be featured online and on the lobby art wall during the musical.

The true-story musical written by Fran Powers about her parents and siblings, with music by Terez Hartmann, has everything needed to become a holiday classic: romance, family, drama, comedy and tons and tons of heart.
