In Hotel Strindberg , the crowd enters the head of Strindberg and into the nerves of his life and work. Above all, it may be about love and the fighting between man and woman, or "love hatred" as Strindberg himself called it. The action is based on both Strindberg's biography and from several of his plays and books: Fadren , En dares forsvarstal and Tjanstevinnans son . Parallel events and dramatic happenings are played in front of the audience and paint collects the image of a society, an epoch.
Hotel Strindberg is a kind of troll machine in intense, fast-paced and heartbreaking interplay between actors, technicians and attire. Among other things, we see Martin Wuttke, one of Germany's foremost actors, who achieved international success through his film work, including the role of Hitler in Quentin Tarantino's big movie Inglourious Basterds (2009).
