The story of a marriage is at the center of I Do! I Do!, an intimate and nostalgic work by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones (The Fantasticks). Written as a star vehicle for theatre legends, Mary Martin and Robert Preston, the original Broadway production received seven Tony Award nominations.

The show begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day. Their vows behind them, they look forward to spending the rest of their lives together. We watch as they go through their wedding night jitters, raise a family and negotiate midlife crises. Michael eventually admits to his infidelity, and, although Agnes is angered by his actions, she forgives him and the couple reconciles. They rediscover how much they really need each other. Then, after 50 years of marriage, the couple leaves their house to the next pair of newlyweds. This production contains adult themes and is rated PG.

The cast stars Larissa Klinger as Agnes and Dan Fenaughty as Michael. Audiences will remember Larissa’s and Dan’s performances in OAT’s production of Damn Yankees last summer where they played Lola and Mr. Applegate, respectively. This real life married couple has returned for this touching story of two soul mates navigating the perils of life set to a tuneful, charming score.

OZARK ACTORS THEATRE Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

OZARK ACTORS THEATRE is at 701 North Cedar, ROLLA, MO.

Originally erected to serve as the First Baptist Church of Rolla, the Cedar Street Playhouse has been a community gathering place since construction was completed in 1944. As the church grew, the need for a larger space required them to build a larger facility across the street. The University of Missouri – Rolla (now Missouri University of Science & Technology) entered into a 20-year lease for the former church building and converted it into a theatre and auditorium space. In 1993 when UMR’s lease with the First Baptist Church expired, OAT purchased the Cedar Street Playhouse as their permanent home. Launching a successful campaign for the purchase of the building, the Board was also able to add theatre seating, a lighting system, and handicap-accessible restrooms. Since that time, OAT has remained as a positive presence in south-central Missouri with its continued growth. Today the Cedar Street Playhouse is in use year round by not only the OAT company but also other area groups, providing quality live entertainment, classes and other events for this area.
