After years of war, an idyllic Italian town is finally back in bloom. But Young lovers Claudio and Hero, and sparring singletons Beatrice and Benedick, soon discover that all is not as it seems in their beautiful surrounds as they become entangled in a series of mischievous games, pranks and plots.



Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (The Winter’s Tale, ★★★★★ ‘A triumph’ The Telegraph) directs this Elizabethan-dress production.

Josie Rourke's production of William Shakespeare's timeless comedy Much Ado About Nothing starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate will complete its run at the Wyndham's Theatre on 3 September 2011, as previously scheduled. Breaking all Wyndham's Box Office records, Much Ado About Nothing has sold out its entire run and recouped within a few weeks of opening.

Shakespeare on the Sound, Connecticut's premier outdoor summer Shakespeare theater company, announces the Apprentice Company for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing, under the direction of Joanna Settle. This year's Apprentice Company of 16 is the largest group yet, chosen from over 120 applicants. The 2011 Apprentice Company includes Gabby Acquaviva (Darien, CT), Iman Al-Salihi (Kirkuk, Iraq), Scott Bartelson (Stratford, CT), Kiana Khozein (Westport, CT), Alexa LaVersa (Stamford, CT), Ali McGarey (Darien, CT), Marquerite McHale (Greenwich, CT), K.C. The Old Globe's 2011 Shakespeare Festival will include Peter Shaffer's AMADEUS as well as Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The festival will take place at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre in San Diego. On their first day of rehearsal, April 19, the cast and creative team of the festival created a video to introduce themselves.

Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater (2010) and creators of Goodbar and #9, announced today the premiere of a new version of Much Ado About Nothing starring 11-13 year old actors from the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan. Adapted and directed by Casey McClellan and featuring sound design by M.L. Opening at Wyndham's Theatre on Wednesday 1 June with previews from Monday 16 May and booking until Saturday 3 September 2011, Much Ado About Nothing is presented in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions.
