Transport yourself to the carefree world of 1920s musical comedies with The Boy Friend, a charming and lighthearted musical by Sandy Wilson. Her strict father forbids her from engaging with potential suitors because of their potential fortune-hunting motives.
Undeterred, Polly hatches a playful scheme. When a delivery boy named Tony arrives with her Pierrette costume for a fancy dress ball, they are instantly smitten. However, a hilarious misunderstanding ensues as Polly, to protect her social standing, pretends to be a poor working girl. This sets the stage for a whirlwind of romantic entanglements, mistaken identities, and playful song-and-dance numbers.
