A solo musical dramedy by Sara CarbonePieces of Her is about the often magical, sometimes maddening world of professional child and adult acting. In the play Sara sings, speaks, and dances her way through over a dozen characters and multiple musical styles, almost entirely without instruments. The show follows her attempts to climb out from under the weight of a strong-willed father, unfriendly classmates, and two unruly manifestations of her psyche battling things out in her head. Pieces of Her, a one-person show about struggling to find your way as a child actress and adult artist, is going up at The Pocket Theater on April 19, 2019. The 60-minute, semi-autobiographical play is written and performed by actress, singer, songwriter Sara Carbone. In the play Sara brings to life over a dozen characters through speaking, singing, dancing and clowning, almost entirely without instruments.
