Due to popular demand, award-winning actor and playwright Dan Hoyle returns to The Marsh San Francisco with his critically acclaimed hit, Border People. This work, last seen at The Marsh in January 2020, is based on Hoyle’sconversations and interviews from the South Bronx housing projects courtyards, Refugee Safe Houses on the Northern Border with Canada, and travels along the Southwestern Border and into Mexico. Featuring eleven monologues of people who live on or across borders both geographic and cultural, this work is an intimate, raw, poignant, funny look at the borders that many negotiate in their everyday lives. Border People has been greeted with unanimous critical acclaim, earning the highest rating from the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Marsh San Francisco has postponed performances of Dan Hoyle’scritically acclaimed hit, Border People. Originally scheduled for May 26 – June 24, the show will instead be presented in Fall 2023 (new dates TBD).

Since debuting his newest work in March 2022, acclaimed actor/playwright Dan Hoyle has used the stage of The Marsh to shed light on social inequality in America. This summer, Bay Area theatregoers will get another chance to view this riveting look at how male white America has been coming to terms with the current racial reckoning when Hoyle brings Talk To Your People back to The Marsh San Francisco for a limited run from July 30–August 27 (dates/times below).
The Marsh San Francisco is offering local theatre lovers a final chance to catch Dan Hoyle’s Talk To Your People, adding three final performances on June 3, 18, & 24 to the show’s run, which is currently scheduled through May 28.
