Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho tells the story of Patrick Bateman, a young and handsome Wall Street banker with impeccable taste and unquenchable desires. Through an electric score we see Patrick and his elite group of friends spend their days in chic restaurants, exclusive clubs and designer labels. But at night, Patrick takes part in a darker indulgence, and his mask of sanity is starting to slip. This satire paints a pointed picture of the consumerism and misogynistic attitudes of the 80’s corporate world, a theme still relevant more than 30 years later.

August 13, 2023Ray of Light Theatre has announced full casting for CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE '90s MUSICAL, the jukebox musical based on the 1999 cult classic film with a score made up of over 20 hit songs from the '90s. The show launches at the Victoria Theatre in The Mission on September 8th and runs through October 1st.

Ray Of Light Theatre Announces 2019 Season!
January 07, 2019Ray of Light Theatre, San Francisco's non-profit musical theatre company, today announced its 2019 season of musicals featuring the satirical thriller American Psycho, the awe-inspiring Caroline, or Change and a new interpretation of the annual Halloween favorite, The Rocky Horror Show. This season of politically and socially relevant musicals follows a critically-acclaimed 2018 season that included the all-female production of Jesus Christ Superstar and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
