Paper Story comes to Prague this week. This is a poetic production about the frail world we ourselves create, suitable for the whole family. The main role is assigned to paper, playfulness and children’s imagination. 

Po prosincové derniéře veleúspěšného Sweeneyho Todda představuje muzikál Divadla J. K. Tyla další tentokrát méně známý Sondheimův kus: muzikál Company (Přátelé).

The first festival edition was held at the New Stage of the National Theatre two years ago on instigation of Radim Vizváry, the artistic director of Laterna magika. The second Laterna fest edition brings to Prague progressive and inspiring artists from Japan, Australia, Sweden, Canada, Israel and the Czech Republic. 

What did our critic think of ČARODĚJKY ZE SALEMU at Divadlo J. K. Tyla V Plzni? Po 55 letech od první premiéry se do Plzně vrátila inscenace Čarodějky ze Salemu Arthura Millera. Jeho dílo je silně politickou hrou zasazenou na pozadí skutečné historické události, čarodějnických procesů v Salemu. Hra je reakcí na procesy poloviny 20. století v USA, tzv. Mccarthismus, kdy byli nejen umělci, ale hlavně federální úředníci stíháni za vykonstruované vazby na komunistickou stranu.

Po loňské derniéře úspěšné inscenace Heřmanovy Rusalky v Národním divadle nyní divadlo uvedlo premiéru nového zpracování Dvořákovy nejúspěšnější opery. Tentokrát se režie ujali šéfové činohry Národního divadla duo SKUTR. Jak se těmto úspěšným režisérům první operní představení na prknech první české scény vydařilo?

The National Theatre presents The Storm, a masterpiece by Vítězslav Novák, a brilliant protege of Antonín Dvořák. Novák's symphonic poem is a mesmerizing sea fantasy featuring solos, chorus, and orchestra, inspired by Svatopluk Čech's poetic text.
