Welcome to our 67th season! This season Lakewood presents an entertaining repertoire of theatre gems that originated as, or became, iconic film favorites. We begin with the new musical Matilda, based on the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl, then time warp to the spooky and seductive cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show. In the cold of winter, hearts will warm with the stage adaptation of Shakespeare in Love, adapted from the Academy Award-winning film which imagines a young William Shakespeare and his muse. The new year brings Frederick Knott's Wait Until Dark, a delightfully frightening thriller, and The Odd Couple, Neil Simon's popular comedy about two polar opposite roommates who must learn to get along. Our season wraps up with Funny Girl, the semi-biographical story of actress and Broadway star Fanny Brice, a role that famously catapulted Barbra Streisand into the spotlight with the acclaimed songs "People" and "Don't Rain On My Parade."
This year we continue our added ordering options for subscribers. In addition to our Mainstage shows, subscribers can pre-order tickets to our Lost Treasures Collection Series on our Side Door Stage as well as Lakewood in City Lights(our holiday gala and fundraiser) scheduled for November 16, 2019 at the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland!
