With no director, no set, and a different guest performer each night, this play is performed by distinct local actors reading a script they see for the first time as they step onstage in front of a live audience. Using a menagerie of allegorical animals, the play is “not about Iran,” but grapples with the social phenomena of power, obedience, and manipulation. Will you participate? Will you be manipulated? Will you listen? Will you really listen?
12 Peers Theater begins their eighth main stage season with Blank, featuring the return of White Rabbit Red Rabbit playwright Nassim Soleimanpour and his latest 'story machine.' Blank features a script full of blanks, to be filled by the audience in attendance and a new performer at every performance, ensuring no two performances are the same.
12 Peers Theater announces their eighth season featuring the return of Mythburgh, a site-specific performance and storytelling series, and two local premieres, Blank and Everybody. Blank is a performance piece by Nassim Soleimanpour, the mastermind behind 2016's White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Everybody is a 2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins that remixes the classic Everyman for a modern audience. The play features a rotating cast of performers, ensuring no two performances are the same.
12 Peers Theater is at 937 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.
