As BroadwayWorld sadly previously reported, Broadway lost its greatest icon in Stephen Sondheim, who passed away at the age of 91. The legendary composer is widely acknowledged as the most innovative, most influential, and most important composer and lyricist in modern Broadway history.

With the passing of Sondheim on Friday, November 26 at age 91, CBS Sunday Morning showed their conversation – and her appreciation of Sondheim's artistry.

Stephen Sondheim, theatre legend, sadly passed away on November 26th, 2021. His mark on the world was not lost on anyone, and he outpour of love and appreciated for him as a person, lyricist, and composer has been nonstop since the news was broken. CBS News' 60 Minutes is highlighting the great Sondheim's life by releasing an archived interview the composer did with host Diane Sawyer back in 1988.

Mirroring the revival's first preview just a few weeks back, the night started with a pre-performance speech from director Marianne Elliott where she brought the full cast of Company to the stage. The cast, creative team and crew dedicated both the performance and the run to composer Stephen Sondheim. 

Beloved stage stars Sierra Boggess and Julian Ovenden were together (up close) last week to celebrate the release of their new album, Together At A Distance, featuring classic and contemporary Broadway duets.

Last night, the revival of COMPANY starring Tony winner Katrina Lenk and two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone resumed previews on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. COMPANY will open on Thursday, December 9.

Just last week, the company of Mrs. Doubtfire celebrated their first big Broadway milestone- the fourth preview. While that might not sound like much, it's one more than they got to perform in 2020, when performances were suspended soon after they began at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Last night, October 21, Mrs. Doubtfire, the new musical comedy, had it’s first preview performance on Broadway since the 19-month long shutdown. Mrs. Doubtfire was shutdown after just three performances in March 2020. Watch as they take their joyous first bows back.
