Allegiance - A New American Musical has been eyeing a Broadway run since it premiered at San Diego's Old Globe last fall. Since then, a New York City reading was held, led by Lea Salonga, George Takei and Telly Leung, all of whom starred in the San Diego production; there was also a recent backers screening in Austin. The St. Louis Muny's cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, which ran from July 14th through 20th, created a video remix of Beyonce's 'Pretty Hurts.' The remix is very much in the style of the show itself, as each of the actors is clad in creepy, kooky, monster-like costumes.

The World Premiere of the Broadway-bound Allegiance - A New American Musical ended its extended run at San Diego's Old Globe on October 28, 2012. The musical starred television and film icon George Takei, Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga and Broadway favorite Telly Leung. The Old Globe announced on Friday, August 3, the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical, an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II. As previously announced, television and film icon George Takei, Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga and Broadway favorite Telly Leung head up the cast. Philippine Development Foundation ('PhilDev') will present it's upcoming gala event, PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim,on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 7:30pm at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City. Headlining the event are Tony Award winners Robert Lopez, who will be honored with an Award of Excellence, and international star Lea Salonga. Yesterday, BroadwayWorld caught up with Salonga in rehearsal for the event and was given a sneak peak of her rendition of Sondheim's 'Move On'!
