ACOCo’s 2022 season sees the award winning independent company roar back to live performance with seven shows all directed by women, including five Australian premieres,    and new presentation partnerships with The Wheeler Centre, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and, wait for it, the MCG (Yarra Park).

Just in time for the Christmas season, Ghostlight Records released Todd Almond’s debut holiday album A PONY FOR CHRISTMAS. The record is an unconventional, folk-pop holiday album that blends Almond’s original compositions with renditions of traditional carols and a few pop surprises. Often more wistful and melancholic than ebullient, A PONY FOR CHRISTMAS reminds listeners that joyfulness in the holiday season isn’t always sugar dusted or bright lights.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE – New York’s newest hotspot for intimate dining and extraordinary music – will present Todd Almond in an exclusive concert celebrating his debut holiday album from Ghostlight Records, A Pony for Christmas, on Monday, December 13 at 7:00 PM.

In 2020, Todd Buonopane (Broadway’s Cinderella, Chicago, Grease & Spelling Bee) taught us how to survive a quarantine by singing lady songs in his bathtub. Bathtub Theatre became an internet sensation. Well, Todd is out of the tub and onstage at Green Room 42! Singing songs and medleys of the grand dames of the Broadway stage, Todd is out to prove that he is truly ALL WASHED UP.

Artistic Director Robert Istad conducts this audience favorite, imbued with the wonder, reverence, and awe of the season. Among the offerings are arrangements of such beloved classics as I Wonder as I Wander, Ding! Dong! Merrily on High, Silent Night, and God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen, by Leonard Enns, John Rutter, David Willc*cks and others, as well as works by noted 20th century English composers Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells, and contemporary composers Sarah Quartel, Bob Chilcott, Patrick Hawes, Cecilia McDowall, and Will Todd.

Launched by Janie Dee in 2020, the London Climate Change Festival announces today specially curated concert with an all-star line up Song for Nature will be available on Stream.Theatre for a limited run ahead of the COP26 Climate Change Conference. Directed by Dominic Dromgoole, Song for Nature was conceived to to raise awareness of climate change featuring a spectacular line-up of performances.

Live theatre will return to New Jersey City University (NJCU) this November for six performances when the NJCU Musical Theatre presents one of the most infamous and dark musicals ever written — Sweeney Todd —at the NJCU Center for the Arts Westside Theatre.

The St. Charles Singers, led by founder and music director Jeffrey Hunt, will open its 38th concert season October 2 and 3, 2021, in St. Charles, Illinois, with a program featuring the world premiere of a new choral work by acclaimed American composer Jake Runestad.

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun!

The opening performance of Sweeney Todd by Hugh Wheeler with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim will begin Friday, July 23 at 7:30 PM. A preview performance will precede the opening on July 22 at 7:30 PM; matinee and evening performances will run through Saturday, August 7. Welsh National Opera has announced that the Company will return to touring in Wales and England from Autumn this year. The details announced include touring opera productions, engagement and outreach work and orchestral concert activity. 

The Hangar Theatre has just announced the stars of its upcoming Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The production will feature Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Donna Lynne Champlin as Mrs. Lovett and BroadwayWorld's own Nik Walker (The Chaos Twins) as Sweeney Todd.

The classic tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland comes to life in this quirky and delightful family opera. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole on her adventures where she encounters a whole host of peculiar characters including a relaxed caterpillar, happy cat, depressive hare, mad hatter and sleepy dormouse. The London Climate Change Festival will present SONG FOR NATURE, a specially created concert to raise awareness of Climate Change. SONG FOR NATURE  was filmed over three days on stage at the London Coliseum, and all around this iconic building.

Written as the world shut down during the recent pandemic, Todd connected with Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof to write the tracks that would become Sonic Healing. 

The St. Charles Singers, led by founder and music director Jeffrey Hunt, will present their 2020 Candlelight Carols program as a free-to-view webcast on Sunday, December 6. The 45-minute concert will stream at 4 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. CST.
