The Axelrod Performing Arts Center has announced its grand reopening beginning in October, after 18 months shuttered from the pandemic. Four main-stage musicals have been announced as well as a youth production from the Axelrod Performing Arts Academy. The concert schedule will be announced after Labor Day.

The first new production in 25 years of Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey’s iconic musical GREASE, directed by Nikolai Foster, choreographed by Arlene Phillips and starring Peter Andre as Teen Angel and Vince Fontaine opened at Curve, Leicester on 30 July and is currently touring the UK. 

What can you say about a show that's been around for fifty years and shows no signs of slowing down? You know GREASE. Whether from the original show, the film, or the revised stage version that adds the big movie songs, it's in your head and you might just know and love all the words. Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey originally tried it out in their hometown of Chicago, and since then there's been no looking back.

America's Musical GREASE is an iconic, nostalgic musical that brings memories and earworms in droves. Following his success starring in the UK and Ireland tour in 2019, Peter Andre will star in the 2020 UK tour of the first new production in 25 years of Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey's iconic musical GREASE, at certain venues. As well as reprising the role of Teen Angel, Andre will also play Vince Fontaine and the Sergeant, joining the previously announced Dan Partridge as Danny Zuko. Further casting to be announced including who will be playing the role of Teen Angel, Vince Fontaine and the Sergeant when Peter Andre is not performing.

The Marriott Theatre opens its 45th season with director Scott Weinstein's staging of GREASE, the 1971 musical that was born in Chicago and became a Broadway hit, a famous film and a perennial favorite of theaters across the country. With book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the show follows sheltered Sandy Dumbrowski (Leryn Turlington) as she navigates social life at Rydell High School, where she's the new girl in the class of 1959. Befriended by a world-wise clique called the Pink Ladies, Sandy soon discovers that her boyfriend of the previous summer, Danny Zuko (Jimmy Nicholas) also attends Rydell and is the leader of a leather-clad gang of a?oegreasers.a?? Can innocent Sandy and tough-guy Danny rekindle their summer romance in the complicated social scene of Rydell High?
