The New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) continue with a focus on Mozart's Symphony No. 41, Jupiter, led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Case Scaglione, today, December 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. This is the second program in this season's series, Points of Entry, in which each concert explores facets of music and the orchestra itself through an influential score. The 92nd season of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) will be launched tonight, October 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Case Scaglione will lead selections from all four movements of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Tonight, Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7:30pm, Robert Sirota's The Clever Mistress (New York premiere) and Theodore Wiprud's My Last Duchess (world premiere) will be presented in a double bill as part of the 15th anniversary season of the Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival at Peter Norton Symphony Space (95th St. and Broadway, NYC). These fully staged, one-act operas - a tragedy and a comedy inspired by two Renaissance stories - will be performed with a chamber ensemble conducted by Victoria Bond, artistic director of Cutting Edge Concerts, and will be directed byTom Dulack.
