The International Association of Blacks in Dance has announced the world-renowned dance faculty and celebrated instructors for on the 1 | a dance class series from January 26-28, 2023 at various times from 10:30am-6:00pm at Canada's National Ballet School.

The NY Dance and Performance Awards, the Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, have announced the 2022 award recipients at the 38th annual Bessie Awards. Porshia A. Derival, Executive Director of H+ | TOTEM Productions, hosted this year's event, which was held at Chelsea Factory. A complete list of the 2022 awards follows below.

NYU Skirball will present The Classical Theatre of Harlem’s acclaimed production of Twelfth Night, winner of two 2022 AUDELCO Awards, running February 11 – 19 at NYU Skirball. 

The Flea has announced its 2023 season featuring the world-premiere new play HANG TIME, by Zora Howard in her directorial debut, its annual Juneteenth Performance Commissions featuring new works and a symposium by five Black artists, and more.

Continuing its commitment to supporting New York City-based artists and community organizations in myriad ways, Chelsea Factory has announced the six new individuals and groups that comprise its 2023 Resident Artists, as well as a host of artistic partnerships that will bring the venue to life over the course of the next year.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim announces Dance Theatre of Harlem: Sounds of Hazel by Tiffany Rea-Fisher.

Continuing their growing artistic and cultural partnership that elevates overlooked historical figures and issues important to the Charleston community, the Charleston Gaillard Center and the International African American Museum (IAAM) are co-commissioners of the globally acclaimed ballet company, Dance Theatre of Harlem's (DTH) new Sounds of Hazel for its Southeastern debut this October 20 – 21.

As a process-focused performing arts organization, Works & Process continued to provide opportunities and fees for artists throughout the pandemic, and pioneered the bubble residency model to support their work safely. The fall 2022 season will feature the official world premieres of works created by New York artists.

Washington Performing Arts announces its 2022/23 Season with the theme of The World in Our City, running from October of 2022 through June of 2023 and featuring artists from 19 nations.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem, a professional theater company that has brought audiences Black artistic excellence for over two decades, announced casting today for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at Marcus Garvey Park in East Harlem July 5-29.

Downtown Manhattan's The Flea Theater proudly announces the inaugural season program for their first-ever resident dance company, EMERGE125, including the world premieres of Behavioral Synchrony and Poly String Theory, the works-in progress John Brown Lives and Rights of Renaissance, and a revised revival of the company favorite Spirit Celestial.

Bryant Park Corporation announces the lineup for its summer performing arts series, Bryant Park Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America. Twenty-six live music, dance, and theater events – all starting at 7pm – will take place at Midtown Manhattan's Bryant Park between late May and September. 

Both before and throughout the pandemic, National Sawdust’s mission has been to provide artists with financial and creative opportunities, audiences with access to groundbreaking work presented in remarkably high fidelity, and to support young creators by means of a rigorous mentorship network. These three goals serve as the inspirations for The Future Is… Festival, which takes place June 7 through June 16, features work by 6 composers and choreographers developing new work through residencies co-produced with the Center for Ballet and the Arts at NYU, and funded by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, will present the world premiere of Music From The Sole: I Didn't Come to Stay choreographed and composed by Leonardo Sandoval and Gregory Richardson, with additional contributions from company members on April 11 and 12, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

The International Association of Blacks in Dance in partnership with STEPS on Broadway presents EVOLVE | new york, a three-day regional dance summit open and designed for dance practitioners, students, professionals, studio owners, and more, to share their love for dance and expand their technical proficiency and knowledge of the art form through a weekend of dance classes and a symposia, Friday, November 19 - Sunday, November 21, 2021.
