Disney's highly acclaimed a cappella group DCAPPELLA have announced the group's first ever North American tour will launch Jan. 22 in Jacksonville, FL. The multi-city will visit 40 U.S. markets including Nashville, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, the Los Angeles area and a stop in Minneapolis at the historic State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.  The tour features a contemporary production of new Deke Sharon arrangements of Disney classic and modern hits, bringing to life a truly unique a cappella experience. Skincare company, H2O+ Beauty is the co-sponsor of the national tour.

Disney Music Group's new a cappella singing sensation, D Cappella made their debut appearance Sunday night on the hit ABC music competition series, 'American Idol.' Theseven-member groupperformed classic Disney songs throughout the show's Disney Night themed episode, including favorites from 'The Little Mermaid,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' 'The Lion King,' and 'Aladdin.' The group's co-creator, music director, arranger and artistic producer is Deke Sharon, aka 'the father of contemporary a cappella' (Entertainment Weekly). Their first national tour will launch in 2019.

Lyricist, bookwriter, and Broadway performer Jill Abramovitz and Tony-nominated actor Anika Larsen (Beautiful) will co-host Prospect Theater Company's upcoming Good to Go Songwriters' Showcase: a concert celebrating new works-in-process created or co-created by women writers.  This special one night event will be presented on March 10, 2018 at 8pm at The TimesCenter (242 West 41st, NYC).

Feinstein's/54 Below presents "New Writers at 54: Songs by Julia Meinwald & Gordon Leary" on Sunday, July 30. Julia and Gordon write aggressively empathetic musicals. Tisch New Theatre will present HAIRSPRAY, the musical based on the 1988 film written and directed by John Waters, April 1-4 at the NYU Skirball Center. With music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, HAIRSPRAY the musical premiered on Broadway in 2002 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. On April 12th, 2015, Tony Nominee Michael McElroy (Rent, Big River), Broadway's Caissie Levy (Ghost, Les Miserables), Derek Klena (Dogfight, Wicked), and Eden Espinosa (RENT, Wicked) will perform in Raise Your Voice: A Cabaret For A Cure, a benefit concert to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Conceived and directed by Rob Morean, a Sophomore at Tisch School of the Arts in the Department of Drama's New Studio on Broadway, and inspired by his recent battle and win against Hodgkin's Lymphoma, all proceeds from the cabaret will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
