This spring and summer artists at Joe's Pub a?" a program and venue of The Public Theater a?" will shine a light on the breath of Latinx art. This group of artists explore music styles with roots in Mexico, Chile, Cuba, the afrolatino traditions of the Caribbean, and more. Seasoned ears will be able to discern the influence of a myriad of traditions while newbies will be granted delightful access to the nuances under the Latinx umbrella at Joe's Pub.

HB Studio, one of New York's original acting studios, will celebrate its diamond jubilee year with a series of programs and special events which will not only honor its storied 75-year past, but also highlight its role in developing the talent of today and the future.

Playwright Lynn Nottage matters.  Winner of a MacArthur 'genius' grant, she's also been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2019.  She's the only woman to win two Pulitzer Prizes for drama (for RUINED in 2009 and SWEAT in 2017). Nottage calls FLOYD'S her 'side hustle' to SWEAT.  Commissioned by the Guthrie, it had its world premiere there this past weekend.

Continuing its commitment to bringing free Shakespeare to the community and strengthening audience engagement through the arts, The Public Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, will mount its MOBILE UNIT again this spring with a free three-week tour to the five boroughs of Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST, directed by Laurie Woolery.

Though Shakespeare's The Tempest commences with a spectacular act of revenge, director Laurie Woolery stresses in her program notes for Mobile Unit's thoroughly enrapturing new production her intention to highlight the play's moments of forgiveness, leaving audiences to ponder 'what it means to use one's power to heal rather than to destroy and what it means to break the a cycle of retribution and violence.'

The Sol Project, the new theater initiative dedicated to producing the work of Latinx playwrights, has announced the New York premiere of OEDIPUS EL REY by MacArthur Fellow Luis Alfaro, directed by longtime collaborator Chay Yew, the OBIE award-winning director.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced that single tickets are available now for The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street. Celebrating 50 years of new work at 425 Lafayette Street and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR, the season will include a new production from Elevator Repair Service, new plays by Luis Alfaro and Julia Cho, and an encore engagement of Nia Vardalos' acclaimed show Tiny Beautiful Things. R.Evolucion Latina (RL) is celebrating it's 10th Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp that will take place July 31st - August 4th in midtown Manhattan.
