A Shazam! sequel is officially in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Henry Gayden, the original screenwriter, will return for the sequel. Director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran are also expected to return.

Easterseals Southern California announced new additions to its lineup of mentors for the annual Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, the entertainment industry's premiere disability inclusion film competition. Academy Award-winning writer, director and producer Phil Lord (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Lego Movie,” “21 Jump Street”) and producer and President of SK Global John Penotti (“Crazy Rich Asians”) will provide mentorship to the film competition's winners for Best Director and Best Film, respectively.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” (edited by John Ottman, ACE) and “The Favourite” (edited by Yorgos Mavropsaridis, ACE) won Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) and Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) respectively at the 69th Annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight where trophies were handed out recognizing the best editing of 2018 in 11 categories of film, television and documentaries. The black-tie ceremony was held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel with over 1000 in attendance to celebrate. President of American Cinema Editors, Stephen Rivkin, ACE, presided over the evening's festivities with comedian Tom Kenny serving as the evening's host.

"The Favourite" was the favorite film of more than 2,500 users who voted for the 17th Annual Gold Derby Film Awards nominations. Sony Music proudly announces the release of SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) featuring original music by multiple Golden Globe nominee Daniel Pemberton. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on CD on December 17, 2018. Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animations' Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will debut in U.S. theaters on December 14.

FOX has given a straight-to-series order to BLESS THE HARTS, a half-hour animated comedy featuring the voices of Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Kristen Wiig ('Bridesmaids,' 'Saturday Night Live'), Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Maya Rudolph ('The Good Place,' 'Bridesmaids'), Emmy Award nominee Jillian Bell ('Saturday Night Live,' 'Eastbound & Down') and Ike Barinholtz ('Neighbors,' 'Blockers'). Created and executive-produced by Emmy Award winner Emily Spivey ('The Last Man on Earth,' 'Parks and Recreation,' 'Saturday Night Live'), 13 episodes of BLESS THE HARTS have been ordered, which will air during the 2019-2020 season.

Sony Pictures Animation and Nelvana have announced the second-season renewal of the hit animated comedy Hotel Transylvania: The Series. Disney Channel in the U.S. and their global territories, and TELETOON Canada, a network owned by Nelvana parent company Corus Entertainment, are set to broadcast the new episodes.
