Jazzmatics Debuts Today at The Canyon Club

The JAZZMATICS™, a new contemporary jazz and R&B band, will perform in public for the first time tonight, April 22 at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. Individually, the group's members have accompanied such stars as Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Tower of Power, Santana, George Benson, Elton John, Kelly Clarkson, Bette Midler, Michael Jackson, and many more. Now they are coming together as The JAZZMATICS to create a blend of jazz, pop and funk.

Think the zaniness of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and Brandon Thomas' Charlie's Aunt and then those crazy American stage musical parodies like Little Mary Sunshine and The Boy Friend, and you've nailed the nonstop comical antics of I'm Just Wild About Harry adapted by Gary Lamb and William A. Reilly at Crown City Theatre in NoHo. With slick direction from Joanne McGee and a super energetic cast, this musical is the perfect summer concoction.

Seattle Opera today announced its captivating 2011/12 season, featuring an American treasure, the greatest French opera, the company premiere of a work by Verdi, one of opera's fundamental love stories, and a beloved Puccini tragedy. The season opens with Porgy and Bess in July, followed by Carmen in the fall and Attila, Orphée et Eurydice, and Madama Butterfly in 2012.

The Seattle Repertory Theatre has announced casting for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Of the 23 roles cast so far, 21 have been filled by Seattle performers, ranging from up-and-comers like Troy Fischnaller and Alexandra Tavares to long-time staples like Charles Leggett, Sea?n G. Griffin, Todd Jefferson Moore and Suzanne Bouchard. Additionally, five of the eight directors are local, as are many of the designers.

Pacific Stages will follow up their debut production of Lobby Hero with the world premiere of Something Happened, by award-winning playwright L. Trey Wilson. Something Happened runs April 1 through May 16 at Pacific Stages in El Segundo and will be directed by L. Trey Wilson. The press opening begins April 8 and there will be an opening reception Saturday, April 10.
