This production is a good introduction to BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Adults will appreciate the strong voices and engaging story. The littlest patron will be enchanted.

The Hub Theatre's REDDER BLOOD, co-produced with the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, is many things: a dysfunctional family drama, a romantic sitcom, and a philosophical exploration. But what it does most successfully is encourage thought-provoking discussion about the vast topics it covers.

At stake for both couples in Going to a Place is the fundamental question: are we good people? And even if we tell ourselves over and over again that we're jerks, that we have no soul and not one scintilla of empathy for anyone but ourselves, could it be that we're still decent people after all? Sometimes the shock lies not so much in our cynicism but in the realization that the pose is a lie, and that goodness and soul were always there, in our hearts, from the git-go.

Terrence McNally's acclaimed play MOTHERS AND SONS, nominated for Tony and Drama League awards in 2014, explores change, reconciliation and what it means to be a family. MOTHERS AND SONS will run in the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's Thompson Shelterhouse Theatre March 18 through April 17.
