Verb Ballets, Northeast Ohio's premiere contemporary ballet company, celebrates the life and work of Ian Horvath (1943-1990) on February 9, 2019 in an evening titled Dance Legacy: Celebrating the Life of Ian Horvath. The three-part performance will honor Horvath's impact on dance in Cleveland and will recognize his work as an AIDS advocate. Tragically, he lost his battle to AIDS at the age of 46.

Verb Ballets, Northeast Ohio's premiere contemporary ballet company, continues the celebration of the life and work of Ian Horvath (1943-1990) on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm in a matinee performance at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Auditorium. The performance will honor Horvath's impact on dance and will recognize his work as an AIDS advocate. Horvath was best known in Cleveland as a founder of the Cleveland Ballet and a former soloist with the Joffrey Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Later, he was the Producing Director of the Jose Limon Dance Foundation. Tragically, he lost his battle to AIDS at the age of 46.

SANTA BARBARA DANCE THEATER'S Artistic Director, Christopher Pilafian, kicks off 2019 with DISTANCE AND DESIRE, a fresh program featuring his newest work and that of accomplished and exciting guest artists Josh Manculich and Yusha-Marie Sorzano. The program also includes a special appearance by Doug Elkins' NYC-based company, doug elkins choreography, etc. The event is made possible with support from the Jody and John Arnhold Guest Artist Fund.

Now, ASFB celebrates the fourth year of its residency at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) with a program of works that celebrates the company's commitment to creating new contemporary dance on Saturday, January 19 at 8:00pm. ASFB will perform Tuplet by Alexander Ekman, Dream Play by Fernando Melo, and 1st Flash from world-renowned Finnish choreographer Jorma Elo.

The New Rioult Dance Center Opens October 15

RIOULT Dance NY celebrated the opening of the RIOULT Dance Center with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and Council Members Jimmy Van Bramer and Costa Constantinides along with Hal Rosenbluth, on behalf of the Kaufman Arts District, welcomed RIOULT Dance NY and theRIOULT Dance Center to Queens, Astoria and the Kaufman Arts District at 34-01 Steinway Street. By deconstructing and re-examining iconic works by choreographers Vaslav Nijinsky, Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Merce Cunningham, Bob Fosse, and George Balanchine, Yerushalmy dismantles the modern tradition with both reverence and intensity. Performed by a diverse cast of dancers alongside contributions by scholars and writers, Paramodernities assembles some of today's best and brightest minds to bridge the sometimes disparate worlds of dance and academia.

The Chase Brock Experience, the Brooklyn-based contemporary dance company now celebrating its 10th season, is excited to begin performances for their two-week engagement, tonight, Monday, November 27.
