Opera Parallèle today announced details for the company’s upcoming Benefit Celebration Over the Rainbow, scheduled for Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Saint Joseph’s Arts Society, 1401 Howard Street. Special to the evening will be the San Francisco debut performance of critically acclaimed opera singer and crossover artist, countertenor John Holiday in a varied program spanning opera to pop, including the artist’s heartfelt interpretation of Harold Arlen’s immortal “Over the Rainbow.” Opera Parallèle Resident Pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi will be Holiday’s musical collaborator.

Santtu-Matias Rouvali's first concert with the Philharmonia in 2022 is a crowd-pleasing matinee programme that is well suited to his balletic style. Urban dwellers know that a fox swaggering the streets like she owns them is nothing unusual these days. The merging of town and country, and the question of whether the fox is invading human territory (or is it the other way round with humans claiming zones that really belong to foxes?) are particularly relevant themes in Opera Holland Park’s homes site in verdant and semi-feral parkland.

Ars Lyrica Houston has announced its 17th season, which celebrates a return to the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, live audiences, and to a milestone set of performances. The season introduces a long-awaited chamber series at Rienzi, the MFAH house museum for European decorative arts, alongside its popular mainstage subscription series at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Highlights of the 2021/22 season, aptly entitled Turning Points, include the organizational firsts of two operas in a single season and contemporary work for solo voice and historic instruments. 

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces that Kiran Landa will make her Stratford East debut and star in EXTINCT, a new one woman play written by April De Angelis and directed by Kirsty Housley.  

Interlochen Arts Academy's end-of-year multidisciplinary showcase of student performances and presentations will be livestreamed from the Interlochen website Wednesday, May 26, through Friday, May 28.

Graduate Singers – known to their audience as Grads – will present Cantate Domino, their first concert in the 2021 season. 

Ars Lyrica Houston will offer the penultimate concert of its first virtual season with Idyll & Intrigue. Featuring Handel’s pastoral cantata Aminta e Fillide, the concert will air on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. The early work by the composer of The Messiah tells the story of two lovers who need a little help from Cupid.
