Wildworks and Circa World Premieres Amongst First Announcements for Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2015

Norfolk & Norwich Festival has announced the first highlights of its 2015 Festival. They include two major new commissions; a promenade performance deep in the woods of the National Trust's outstanding Felbrigg Hall created by acclaimed theatre makers Wildworks and a groundbreaking new show from Circa, one of the world's truly great new circus ensembles.

Dance Against Cancer raised more than $200,000 for the American Cancer Society on Monday, May 5, 2014. Proceeds from the evening will benefit research initiatives and patient and family service programs. More than 500 guests attended the fourth annual Dance Against Cancer. VIP guests enjoyed cocktails, preferred seating, and a gift bag in addition to the performance and post-event reception. The performance featured new work by Brian Reeder created for American Ballet Theatre's Isabella Boylston with New York City Ballet's Chase Finlay and Amar Ramasar, Paul Taylor Dance Company in its first appearance at the benefit, Charles 'Lil Buck' Riley performed with students from National Dance Institute, and included the NYC premiere of Justin Peck's Sea Change. Paul Taylor Dance Company to Perform at Auditorium Theatre, 5/17-18

After a 30 year absence, The Auditorium Theatre welcomes back the Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) as they celebrate their Diamond Anniversary Tour. Hailed as part of the pantheon that created American modern dance, Paul Taylor brings three of his American masterworks to the landmark stage May 17 and 18, 2014. Pace Presents is proud to bring Taylor 2 as a part of their exciting season of dance this spring to the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University. Called 'a kind of miracle...' by the New York Times, Paul Taylor's renowned Taylor 2 Company, composed of six professionals with a particular gift for his style will perform at the Schimmel Center tonight, April 24 through Saturday, April 26 at 7:30PM. Live music for all performances provided by the distinguished orchestra American Virtuosi, an ensemble of period and modern instruments, conducted by Kenneth Hamrick, Artistic Director. Live music made possible by a gift from Dr. Frank L Ellsworth and Dr. Kristin L. Ellsworth and the American Virtuosi Foundation Inc. as part of the Live Music for Dance Initiative.

Ren? Pape has withdrawn from the Met's 125th Anniversary Gala on Sunday, March 15, due to illness. The resulting program changes are: John Tomlinson will sing the Death Scene from Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, replacing Pape. James Morris will sing Wotan in the final scene of Wagner's Das Rheingold, replacing Pape.

Madoff Scandal Hits City Center, But Renovation Not Affected

Bloomberg News reports that in December 2005, New York City Center theater set up planning a roughly $300 million renovation project, after soliciting ideas from the Paul Taylor Dance Foundation and other resident companies. 'They said, ?dream out loud,' and we did,' said John Tomlinson, general manager of Paul Taylor. City Center says the top-to-bottom makeover eventually will proceed, even though six members of its 32-person board of directors invested with Bernard L. Madoff, who is alleged to have run a $50 billion Ponzi scheme. The six donated at least $260,000 to City Center last year, according to a program of the musical revival series 'Encores!'
