Billy Joel turns 73 this week and The Encore is celebrating in a big way. One of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 160 million records sold worldwide, Billy Joel has had a successful career as a solo artist since the 1970s. With memorable hits like New York State of Mind, Just the Way You Are, Scenes From an Italian Restaurant and more, The Encore will once again take audiences back in time with their popular tribute concert series. 

Legendary Broadway performer and Tony, Academy, and Golden Globe Award winner Joel Grey (Cabaret, Wicked, Anything Goes) will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Chita Rivera Awards.

Shattered Globe Theatre and Chicago Dramatists will celebrate the life and legacy of longtime Chicago playwright Joel Drake Johnson at a public memorial on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 4 pm – 6 pm at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Joel Harper-Jackson will take over the role of M in Mike Bartlett's razor sharp, hilarious play, Cock. Harper-Jackson is to star in the show until the end of its run. The part was originally played in this production by Taron Egerton, who has had to withdraw from the play due to personal reasons.

This afternoon, Broadway veteran Joel Hatch has played his final show with the company of the hit musical, Come From Away. A member of the original cast, Joel Hatch has been with the show since it opened on Broadway just over five years ago on March 12th, 2017. He portrayed 'Claude & others' other characters throughout the production. Gene Weygandt will begin performances in the roles on Tuesday, March 22. Gene joins the company directly from the Australia cast of Come From Away.
