This weekend, Glenda Jackson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lillys, an organization that honors women in the theater. Jackson was honored onstage following a performance of King Lear, by her costar Elizabeth Marvel.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2018-19 Broadway productions all leading up to Tuesdays big announcement... the Tony nominations.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met a total of four times throughout the 2018-2019 season to decide the eligibility for the 73rd Annual Tony Awards.

Glenda Jackson and Ruth Wilson stopped by TODAY to talk about bringing Shakespear's 'King Lear' to Broadway. Jackson talks about how her friend, Nuria Espert, who played Lear in Barcelona, was the person who told her to play Lear herself. Wilson also reveals how this is her first Shakespeare play, and that playing two roles is quite the undertaking.

'King Lear' star Ruth Wilson was a guest on last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. During the interview, Wilson recalled when she was in the show 'Header' at the National Theatre and she had to think fast during a live performance when someone from the audience called out, 'Is there a doctor in the house?'

Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The HBO Films presentation NATIVE SON, based on the classic novel by Richard Wright, will debut SATURDAY, APRIL 6 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO, it was announced today by Len Amato, president, HBO Films. Directed by first-time director and renowned visual artist Rashid Johnson from a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks (“Topdog/Underdog”), the drama had its world premiere in January at the Sundance Film Festival.

Glenda Jackson begins performances as King Lear next week, but made a stop at Seth Meyers before starting at the Cort Theatre.
