Equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman is internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room where the Village Voice touted her as 'someone who fits the room like Derek Jeter fits the Yankees.' She's also worked at Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw.

This evening the inaugural Celebration of Color on Broadway Awards will take place at SAKS Fifth Avenue (611 5th Avenue) beginning at 6PM. Honoring George C. Wolfe and Ruth and Stephen Hendel for their contributions to diversifying Broadway, the Celebration of Color on Broadway Awards will benefit Harlem's OPUS 118 , a private, non-profit organization that supports music education programs for public school students in low-income areas. In addition to the honors this event will celebrate the life of Barbara Ann Teer, founder of The National Black Theater.

Following the release of the highly anticipated 3-D documentary Never Say Never, Madame Tussauds today announced that Grammy-nominated POP/R&B singing-sensation Justin Bieber will be the next celebrity to be immortalized in wax. Bieber's figure will make its world debut this March at three Madame Tussauds attractions-New York, London and Amsterdam.

Bianco's humorous, poignant and eye-opening entertainment of who many consider to be one of New York City's greatest Mayors - Fiorello La Guardia. He stopped by the WLIW studios on Sunday October 12th to be live and in person as the channel aired the very popular documentary PRIDE & PASSION.
