Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for David Lindsay-Abaire’s comedy, 'Ripcord.' “Ripcord,” which contains some adult language, runs July 27 through August 14 at the theater-in-a-garden and is generously sponsored by Tim & Jackie Danis.  

The season will open with Bruce Norris’ Tony, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning “Clybourne Park,” directed by Kurt Naebig (Sept. 8 – Oct. 9).  It will be followed by Alan Ayckbourn’s feisty holiday comedy, “Season’s Greetings,” directed by Connie Canaday Howard (Nov. 17 – Dec. 18). With a nod to the Cleve Carney Museum of Art/MAC summer 2023 exhibition “Warhol,” BTE will complete the season with Vince Melocchi’s fictional play “Andy Warhol’s Tomato” directed by Steve Scott (Feb. 2 – March 5).

Shattered Globe Theatre is presenting a revival of Chicago writer Joel Drake Johnson’s Rasheeda Speaking, directed by SGT Associate Artistic Director AmBer D. Montgomery. This comedy-turned-social thriller about workplace racism will play through June 4, 2022 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

New York Theatre Review calls it a “valentine to the heart and soul of the American suburbs.” There will be a Preview performance 8 p.m., Thursday, April 28. Press opening is 8 p.m., Friday, April 29. Performances run through May 29.

Two adjustments to the season schedule at Goodman Theatre shifts the 2021/2022 “Homecoming” Season line-up in the months ahead. Shattered Globe Theatre today announced it will postpone its winter production of Rasheeda Speaking due to the current surge of the Omicron variant. The revival, originally scheduled for February 25 – April 9, 2022, will now play from April 22 – June 4, 2022 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.

First Folio Theatre’s Board of Directors has announced that Founding Executive Director David Rice will be stepping down in the spring of 2024. In conjunction with that decision, the Board has also determined that First Folio will cease operations at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
