New Village Arts is pleased to announce the World Premiere of a new adaptation of the classic commedia dell'arte comedy THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS. This new version of the Italian classic by Carlo Goldoni is translated by AJ Knox, and adapted by Knox and Samantha Ginn. Ginn also stars as the titular servant, Truffaldino.

WP Theater, in partnership with Colt Coeur, announces that Kavi Ladnier ( Just Add Magic, Heroes ) and Sendhil Ramamurthy ( Heroes, Covert Affairs ) will star in the World Premiere of the 2017 Kilroys List play Hatef**k by Rehana Lew Mirza. WP Lab Alum and 2018 Lucille Lortel Visionary Director Award winner Adrienne Campbell-Holt (WP's What We're Up Against) returns to WP Theater to direct this bracingly insightful new play, which begins Off-Broadway previews on Sunday, March 3, 2019. The four-week limited engagement through Sunday, March 31 will celebrate its official opening night on Wednesday March 13 at WP Theater (2162 Broadway).

Inspired by a 1970 Federico Fellini film, three aging clowns compete for a job in an absurdly comic look at man's fear of uselessness in society. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents the West Coast premiere of Old Clown Wanted by Romanian-French playwright Matei Visniec in a new translation from the French by Jeremy Lawrence. Romanian-born Florinel Fatulescu directs for a Sept. 22 opening, with performances continuing through Nov. 4 at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A.

To kick off its 24th Anniversary Season, Dryden Ensemble presents "A Journey through Italy" its Autumn Benefit today, September 15. A celebration of ?All Things Italian,' this special event will be held at historic home of President Grover Cleveland, known as Westland Mansion. The evening will spotlight the musical and culinary arts of Italy, with an intimate house concert followed by sumptuous buffet dinner and silent audition. The music begins at 5:00 p.m.

On Friday evening July 6, 2018, Pacific Opera Project (POP) presented Gioachino Rossini's little known opera LA GAZZETTA at the newly outfitted Ebell Club in Los Angeles. The area where patrons sat at tables was surrounded with a semi-circle of single seats. Every seat has been sold for the entire two-weekend run of GAZZETTA but it is likely that we will hear more from this bubbly,

The Production: Making their return from the adult professional theatre scene in New York, award winning Fun House Theatre and Film puts their pint size powerhouses back in action with a comedic offering going all the way back to the roots of what we now know as comedy as they mount an approachable and clever adaptation of the Commedia dell'arte classic, The Servant of Two Masters.
