Jenine Krause and Richard Boyce, Co-Chairs of the Young People’s Theatre (YPT) Board of Directors, announced the appointment of Camilla Holland as the next Executive Director of YPT.

The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced today that the 44th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards will be held Monday, June 24th at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre. The celebration will be hosted by Toronto theatre icon Ryan G. Hinds.

Shakespeare Theatre Company has revealed the cast and creative team for the holiday production of As You Like It, playing in STC's Harman Hall DEC 2 – 31.

The Canadian Opera Company's 2023/2024 season launches with Fidelio, the only opera from master composer Ludwig van Beethoven and a work that hasn't been seen on the COC stage in nearly 15 years. The opera, running from September 29 to October 20, 2023, centres on Leonore, a woman who has disguised herself as a man named Fidelio in order to save her husband, imprisoned for his revolutionary political views.

Single tickets are now on sale for all of the Canadian Opera Company's 2023/2024 operas, as well as Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition, a fast-paced and exciting night of opera in support of the country's very best emerging singing talent.

This summer, Canadian Stage celebrates 40 magical years of Dream in High Park by bringing back one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.  The first play ever presented in the High Park amphitheatre in 1983, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM has long been associated with the time-held tradition of Shakespeare under the stars.

THE KNITTING PILGRIM, a one-of-a-kind Canadian multidisciplinary play that helps knit audiences together will perform in Austria and Germany in June-July, 2023.

In the 22.23 season at the Berkeley Street Theatre in the new year, Canadian Stage presents the World Premiere of MIIGIS: UNDERWATER PANTHER, from Canada's leading contemporary Indigenous performance company, Red Sky Performance.  The fourth collaboration between the two organizations, MIIGIS: UNDERWATER PANTHER is onstage January 22 – 29. (Media night: January 24)

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the lineup of new musicals for their 34th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which returns in person and takes place on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21, 2022, at New World Stages. See the full lineup of musicals here!

Chance Theater presents Orange County premiere of Neil Bertram and Brian Hill’s musical, The Story of My Life will be the first show in our 23rd Anniversary Season. The musical is directed by Matthew McCray (The Other Place), with music direction by Robyn Manion (Ragtime). The show will have scheduled virtual performances through June 6, 2021. 

Chance Theater has announced that the Orange County premiere of Neil Bertram and Brian Hill’s musical, The Story of My Life will be the first show in their 23rd Anniversary Season. The musical is directed by Matthew McCray (The Other Place), with music direction by Robyn Manion (Ragtime).

The House of Martin Guerre, the epic Canadian musical by Leslie Arden (music, lyrics & co-book) and Anna Theresa Cascio (co-book) will be staged in concert in Toronto for the first time since 1997.

Actresses Zainab Musa and Kyra Miller join Emmy Award winning actress Erin Cherry and internationally acclaimed actress Sheetal Sheth for The Muse Project's Tea Time, starting at 12:30pm on Saturday, December 14th, at Torn Page (435 W 22nd St, New York) - the historic home of Rip Torn and Geraldine Page.

Odile Gakire (Kiki) Katese, the Rwandan humanitarian and artist, has brought her voice and wisdom to the Canadian Stage Company this autumn in THE BOOK OF LIFE. Brimming with insight and charm, THE BOOK OF LIFE is also a difficult and provocative piece of political theatre that test the limits of idealism in the face a crushing need for pragmatic thinking.

Directed by Jennifer Tarver and performed by actor, writer and knitter Kirk Dunn, The Knitting Pilgrim is a multidisciplinary one-person theatrical experience that uses storytelling, image projection and a one-of-a-kind textile installation called Stitched Glass. The show, which premieres at the Aga Khan Museum's Auditorium for 3 performances May 11 and 12, 2019, and then tours for 39 more shows around Ontario, tells a story of a journey that you need to experience.

St. Peter's Foot, is an UP Theater production, written by award-winning playwright Anna Theresa Cascio, 2019 Writers Guild Awards recipient, and opens on March 20 - April 6, as part of UP theater's 2019 season.
