Silver Spring Stage presents the community theater premiere of God of Carnage by Yasmina Rez, translated by Christopher Hampton, directed by Adam R. Adkins and produced by Bob Scott, the witty and entertaining depiction of two sets of parents that turn a simple playground fight between their kids into a full-blown brawl. God of Carnage will perform weekends September 19 to October 11, 2014.

It was a night to remember as the Oakland Youth Chorus (OYC) took to the risers and promptly raised the roof on the 1st Presbyterian Church on Broadway in Oakland, belting out some amazing Broadway tunes and putting on an all-around great show for the sold-out crowd. This was not just a concert for doting parents and dewy-eyed devotees. These kids can sing! The performances from the many choral groups that comprise OYC were impressive and fun and definitely high-energy entertainment.

Tim's strengths far outweigh his learning disability and could be overcome with a little extra help at Jefferson Junior High. An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) had been provided which would allow him to go to all his regular classes and receive special help when needed. He could function well in regular classes. But the school's principal thinks otherwise and does not want the extra work of changing the boy's placement.

Silver Spring Stage presents The Baltimore Waltz by Paula Vogel, directed by Bob Scott and produced by Bob Benn, a giddy and emotional quest of a woman recently diagnosed with a bizarre illness and her brother in a whirlwind tour of Europe to find a cure, encountering an espionage scheme and discovering surprising twists and turns. The Baltimore Waltz will perform weekends September 20 to October 12.

The smash hit I'M YOUR MAN lands in Adelaide, today, Aug 7-11.

Silver Spring Stage presents 2013 One-Act Festival, an exciting collection of one-act plays, all unpublished, many by local playwrights. Each weekend features different plays that showcase humor and passion. The festival producers are Pam Burks, Jacy D'Aiutolo and Bob Scott. The 2013 One-Act Festival will perform weekends August 8 to 25. 2013 One Act Festival Silver Spring Stage is located in the Woodmoor Shopping Center, lower level (next to the CVS) at Colesville Road and University Boulevard. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at www.ssstage.org. Silver Spring Stage will present the family festive favorite Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol adapted by Michael Hardwick, directed by Pauline Griller-Mitchell and produced by Natalie McManus and Pauline Griller-Mitchell. The holiday classic has delighted generations with the story of Ebenezer Scrooge visited by the Ghosts of Christmas to reveal his past, present and future if he continues miserly ways. This hour-long version of A Christmas Carol will run two weekends only tonight, December 7 to December 16.

Theirs is an inspirational story of survival and courage to save other workers from harm. These Shining Lives will perform weekends October 26 to November 17.
