After the immense success of her previous classes, United Solo is bringing back Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis to teach a series of 3 Master Classes on consecutive Fridays starting August 30, 2019 in New York City. This is a rare opportunity to work with Ms. Dukakis over the course of three weeks, developing one's acting skills and receiving her direct feedback. The class series, 'The Importance of Craft,' will teach students to identify and develop what is important to them as performers. Ms. Dukakis will explain how to approach the craft of acting as a personal connection to thoughts, actions, circumstances, and character, as expressed and defined by the text. 'My most important tools when I teach are my own sensibility, my personal perceptions, my knowledge of the craft, and the excitement and satisfaction I always feel with students,' said Ms. Dukakis.

There has never been a lack of extraordinary talent at United Solo. Year by year, audiences have witnessed some of the most amazing solo artists from all over the world share their talents and stories. Some of these artists have made a particularly incredible mark on the audience's hearts through their performances on the United Solo stage at Theatre Row on 42nd Street in Manhattan. Therefore, during the first two weeks of the 10th anniversary season of United Solo, nearly thirty award-winning performers will be gracing the stage once again in THE BEST OF category.

This is a featured event of the special Stonewall50 Fresh Fruit Festival, at The WILD Project 195 East 3rd Street (between Aves. A & B) New York City. With many festivals taking the summer off, plus Stonewall50, the Fresh Fruit Festival - one of the leading LGBTQ arts organizations in New York - is poised to be the go-to program this summer for quality, cutting-edge entertainment.

Missoula native and Hellgate High School graduate, Bill Bowers, has been to "places so unbelievable, they could only be true." An award-winning actor, writer, teacher, and mime, Bill will share those places and experiences at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts, Tuesday, July 2, at 7:30 pm with his original show, All Over the Map.  

Tickets are now on sale for the new season of United Solo, which celebrates its tenth anniversary with over 120 productions, presented every day between September 19 and November 24. The festival will take place at the newly renovated Theatre Row in the heart of New York's theatre district, which has been home to the festival since its inception. Throughout the past decade, the festival has presented more than 1,000 productions from six continents.

The Urban Stages' Retrospective (October 11- November 10) will feature ten plays from the past three decades. United Solo will host a Master Class with Anne Bogart, internationally acclaimed director, author, and Head of the MFA in Directing Program at Columbia University. This Master Class is a unique opportunity to work with a legendary theatre artist. It will take place on November 5, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Theatre Row in New York City.

Due to popular demand, United Solo brings back Olympia Dukakis to teach in the Master Class Series on September 16, 2018 at Theatre Row in New York City. Austin Pendleton will return to the studio at Theatre Row, NYC, to teach his fourth Master Class at the United Solo Professional Training Program. Participants will be coached on monologues and scenes.

United Solo will host Penny Cherns, Director of the MA in Classical Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), to teach a Master Class as part of the United Solo Professional Training Program on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Theatre Row in New York City. This class, "Trusting the Text," investigates the ways in which the actor can mine, analyze, and explore the text to find a variety of personal resonance and character journeys.
