There are certain moments of history that become emblazoned in our collective human psyches. Fans of American popular music all remember with a searing certainty the day when Charles Hardin Holley was killed in a plane crash at age twenty-two, his pioneering meteoric rock ‘n’ roll career brought to a tragic end. But if Feb 3,1959, was “the day the music died “ - as Don McLean wrote - MSMT’s Buddy Holly STORY turns that trope on its head. The new production, staged by Angela C. Howell makes clear that the legacy of Buddy Holly lives, and if MSMT’s production of the jukebox musical about Holly’s legend and his legacy rocks the Pickard Theater to the rafters with its visceral musical energy, it also speaks volumes about the warmth and heart of the Holly story.

BUYER & CELLAR star Scott Gryder to lead cabaret of songs made famous by Barbra Streisand Emmy Award winner and Chicago Musical Theatre and Cabaret performer Scott Gryder, who in Pride Films and Plays' current production of BUYER & CELLAR plays a struggling actor that manages a make-believe shopping mall in the basement of Barbra Streisand's Malibu home, will lead a cabaret of Ms. Streisand's songs on Monday, April 22 - just two days before her 76th birthday - in The Broadway, Pride Arts Center. Gryder and Music Director Adam LaSalle will be joined in this tribute to the Emmy, Grammy and Oscar-winning actress, songwriter and director by a cast including Jerome Riley Jr., Anslee Rainwater, Missy Aguilar, Matthew Huston, Adam Hibma, and Kimberly Lawson. The concert will be directed by BUYER & CELLAR director Donterrio Johnson.

Celebrate a whole year of holidays in one wonderful musical with the regional premiere of Irving Berlin's joyous HOLIDAY INN, running November 7 through January 6 with a press opening on November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Marriott Theatre (10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire). Inspired by the 1942 classic film,HOLIDAY INN features a beloved score by one of the greatest songwriters in American history, Irving Berlin. Tony Award nominee Denis Jones (Pre-Broadway: Tootsie; Broadway: Holiday Inn; Broadway/Marriott Theatre:Honeymoon in Vegas) directs and choreographs this Broadway hit, joined by Jeff Award-winning Musical DirectorRyan T.
