During her tenure as the Executive Director of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth Advancement Foundation, she advanced and inculcated a philanthropic culture throughout 90 parishes in 28 counties, managing the Board of Directors and overseeing assets of $125 million. Parrish comes to Fort Worth Opera with around thirty years of experience in fundraising, education, marketing, and communication. As the company prepares for its exciting 2019 Festival and looks towards its 75th Anniversary Season in 2020-2021, Paula Parrish's appointment as a development leader, further strengthens Fort Worth Opera's reinvigorated spirit and celebrates its great legacy.

Fort Worth Opera (FWO) proudly announced today the news that legendary Mexican ensemble Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan will be prominently featured in the company's 2019 production of El Pasado Nunca se Termina (The Past is Never Finished). Called "The Best Mariachi in Jalisco," this phenomenal group from Guadalajara, Mexico, was founded in 1965 by Jose 'Pepe' Martinez, the late director of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, and his brother Fernando Martinez.

Fort Worth Opera (FWO) announced today the news that the FWO-TCU Lesley Artist Program, in collaboration with the TCU Opera Studio, has expanded from four to eight artists for the 2018-2019 season. These talented young singers have been selected through a highly competitive nationwide audition process and will perform in the company's productions of Hansel and Gretel and composer Michael Ching's Three Pigs Remix. This season's artists are sopranos Anne Wright and Janani Sridrar, mezzo-sopranos Bridget Cappel and Heather Weirich, tenors Jonathan VanKuren and Myles Garver, and baritones Sam Parkinson and Erik Larson. This prestigious discovery and training program is led by Fort Worth Opera's Coordinator of Educational Outreach, Sheran Goodspeed Keyton, and David Gately, Director of the TCU Opera Studio.

Fort Worth Opera proudly announced today the news that distinguished author, cultural critic, and academic Margo Jefferson will deliver a keynote lecture on The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess at Bass Performance Hall, Saturday, April 27, as part of the opening weekend of the 2019 Fort Worth Opera Festival. Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today that the deadline for submissions has been extended for its seventh annual Frontiers showcase. Applications will now be accepted through midnight, August 31, 2018. The company's innovative program will be held May 6 and 7 during the 2019 Fort Worth Opera Festival (April 26 - May 12). Launched during FWOpera's 2012-2013 season, Frontiers remains one of the few programs world-wide that seeks out unproduced works by the finest up-and-coming composers and librettists from North, South, and Central America, and continues to be acclaimed for the opportunities it provides its chosen artists. Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the casts and creative teams for the 2019 Festival season, including the world premiere of composer-librettist Rachel J. Peters's delightfully wicked opera, Companionship. Adapted from the short story by internationally bestselling author Arthur Phillips, this delicious dark comedy about an obsession with dough, mirrors our modern world, where what we consume becomes all-consuming. Selected as a winner of the 2018 FWOpera Frontiers showcase, the work will receive a fully staged production next spring at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, as part of FWOpera's alternative venue series, Opera Unbound.

Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the names of the six composer and librettist teams whose unpublished works have been selected for the company's sixth annual, critically-acclaimed new works series, Frontiers - funded in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Held during the final week of the 2018 FWOpera Festival, these selected pieces will be presented in two separate showcases of three works each on Wednesday, May 2 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, and Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, on the stage of Bass Performance Hall. Featuring 20-minute excerpts of each selected piece, these brand-new operas will be sung by artists from the 2018 FWOpera Festival with piano accompaniment.

Circle Theatre announces the fourth show of their 2018 Season: Sarah Ruhl's, Stage Kiss. As previously announced, Circle's original fourth show (Out of the Mouth of Babes, by Israel Horovitz), was dropped after multiple, sexual misconduct allegations against the playwright. Executive Director, Tim Long, says, "We could not in good conscience produce his play. We are saddened by this development, but encouraged by the stories of these brave women." Stage Kiss will run from August 16 through September 15, 2018.

Amphibian Stage Productions is proud to host internationally-renowned artist Laura Anderson Barbata as she develops her one-woman play, The Eye of the Beholder. Performances will be Friday, March 23rd, and Saturday, March 24th at 8:00 pm.

The Lone Star Film Society & Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today a free screening of Billy Wilder's Oscar-winning film Sunset Boulevard at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on April 11, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Cinema and opera collide in this exciting new event, featuring a multimedia talk by opera director Chuck Hudson, and a performance by FWOpera-TCU Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artist Bronwyn White. Not only will audiences get a sneak peek of FWOpera's dazzling, 1950s Hollywood production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale, inspired by Sunset Boulevard, but for one night only, film lovers will get a chance to view this critically acclaimed classic on the big screen.

Del Shores (playwright of Sordid Lives) returns to Circle Theatre for one day only with his new, one-man show directed by Emerson Collins. Shores proves once again that he is not a writer, but a self-proclaimed thief! In Six Characters In Search Of A Play, Shores is inspired by Pirandello's classic play to bring you six characters inspired by his real-life encounters that haven't quite made it into one of Shores' plays, films or TV shows.

Circle Theatre kicks off its 37th season this January with a change in leadership. Bill Newberry, Co-Founder and Executive Director, retired at the end of December. Managing Director Tim Long is the new Executive Director and Matthew Gray will come on board mid-January as the Theatre's first Artistic Director.
