Ana Moioli and Et Alia Theater will Present This is Me Eating___ at Alchemical Studios (104 W14th St, New York, NY 10011) on the 30th of October as Part of Award Program.
This is Me Eating___ is a dynamic 45 minute immersive performance that centers around exploring the multicultural layers of one's relations to eating and the universality of body image issues. The show is museum themed and intimate, exhibiting to twenty to thirty people per performance. The performers will work with projection, sound and physicality in order to immerse the audience in a stimulative and meditative state that provokes reflection. Directed by Debora Balardini, performed and produced by all members of Et Alia Theater (Deniz Bulat, Ana Moioli, Maria Müller, Luísa Galatti, Giorgia Valenti), Associate Produced and Designed by Dave Morrissey and concept by Giorgia Valenti. “Come ready to be part of these women’s inner and outer explorations of their eating habits, traditions, and mental reflections,” says Giorgia Valenti, Co-Artistic Director of Et Alia Theater, “Come ready to feel part of a creative process and absorb this global process. You might just discover you are not so alone.”

New York, NY – Co-Artistic Director of Et Alia Theater, Ana Moioli, is one of 3,000 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre.
Over the course of three award cycles, more than 3,000 artists will receive $5,000 grants to engage the public with artist activities across New York City’s five boroughs this summer and fall. Artists can use the grant to create new work or phase of a work, or restage preexisting creative activities across any discipline.
Members of the public can participate in City Artist Corps Grants programming by following the hashtag #CityArtistCorps on social media.
City Artist Corps Grants was launched in June 2021 by NYFA and DCLA with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. The program is funded by the $25 million New York City Artist Corps recovery initiative announced by Mayor de Blasio and DCLA earlier this year. The grants are intended to support NYC-based working artists who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. It is strongly recommended that a portion of the grant be used to support artist fees, both for the applying artist and any other artist that are engaged to support the project.

About Et Alia Theater: Et Alia Theater is an artistic organization founded and led by international women. We strive to create an accepting space that inspires artists to create beyond their comfort zones and collide with an array of international voices which may be culturally unfamiliar. Et Alia is Latin for ‘And Other’: we are inspired to create art for the other, by the other, and about the other.
